Green Campus Computing Campaign Part 1: Taking the Initiative to Act

I have been babbling in my blog about green campus computing, global warming and stuff like that but I've never really done anything big to help. That idleness may be coming to an end.

If you read my entry about green campus computing which was entitled Assignment 1 (MIS), you would know where this is going. Thanks to our instructor's effort to get us students involved in a campaign to promote "Green Campus Computing" in the university, we are now taking steps toward a greener computing environment.

The campaign began with a simple assignment given to us by our instructor, whose name I will not mention because he said using his name does not come cheap, but little did we know at first that he was planning far more than just hearing and reading our thoughts on adopting green campus computing in the university.

Finally, he broke the news to us that our class will become the pioneers for a "green campus computing movement" in our university. I'm really thankful to him because he showed concern for the environment. Now, I can be a part of a small rescue team for the earth with our headquarters just inside the university. Let's start small. As they say, every long journey begins with a single step. This is that single step, the step that is most difficult to make but from which everything else will follow.
