Beelzebub (Manga)

Beelzebub - one of the few Shounen manga that got my TWO THUMBS UP! It follows the story of Oga Tatsumi, a freakishly strong high school delinquent, who happened to pick up a naked baby that was supposed to be the Demon World's future king. He learns not long after that he was chosen by the baby to raise him into a demon king and help him take over the human world. Though Oga is a delinquent, he is not exactly evil and, in fact, shows his good side by rescuing his friends when their safety is jeopardized by bigger bullies.

Baby BL (short for Kaiser de Emperana Beelzebub IV) takes an instant liking to Oga because of his "devilish" nature and forms a contract with him. Baby BL is always seen clinging to Oga and a separation of more than 15 meters from Oga will cause him to burst into a fit of crying that could destroy the whole human world. When not attached to Oga, Baby BL is weaker than the average human baby. But when with Oga, he is able to release demonic power that could endanger the lives of everyone around him.

Beelzebub is a manga written and illustrated by Ryūhei Tamura. The artwork is very different from what I usually prefer but surprisingly, I find it just right for the theme of the series. The manga is insanely funny- I kept laughing all throughout the 15 chapters that are currently out in English! The drawing is very effective in adding emphasis to the humor in the story. The action is topnotch with all the bone-breaking and ass-kickin'! And it's a breather from all the Shoujo manga that I read. Haha. :D You have to read it to know how awesome it is! Read it online HERE. Download it HERE.

there's no anime of this yet because there's still too little material to work with. there are only 16 chapters out recently so maybe after several more, i don't know. hehe.
